Im kinda scared to race my tour now against some of these cars for example im not sure but could someone post the year model of the dodge neon that they can switch a caravan head to and beat a contour easy 11's
interested in selling tour in order to buy a ricer if contour does'nt meet racing needs honda v-tec can beat a tour .
please past all the cars that your tour have been beaten by and all the cars you have beaten have to know what to watch out for.

almost makes me wanna sell the tour do you know anything about the 11 sec neon with the caravan head conversion? wanna take a look under the hood of a lightly riced neon that can do so much damage to a 24 valve tour

I was beaten by a WS-6 Trans AM, and a worked 5.0 mustang... If you are looking for ricer performance, the Contour is not the car for you. The Contour is a car which takes actualy work and thought to make it go faster. We arent like Corvettes, Mustangs, etc who have 5 million companies making performance parts for them. I love my car, but I know my its performance limits with a reasonable budget. This car is certainly for the enthusiast, not the person that wants a 10 second car with no work... -Nick

I also have a 96 tour gl but aftermarket parts are to scarce and when you find aftermarket parts there to high thats why im interested in a neon you can have fixed up to 11 secs for very cheap and dont take this wrong tour peeps i dont mind spending money but i would rather have a ricer i know is made for performance with less problems than the tour most people are unable to add high performance parts to their tour because of other problems they have

If you're looking for a 1/4 mile car, the Contique is not it :rolleyes: . Sure, there's a ton of cars that are easier (and cheaper) to make go fast....straight. Don't get me wrong, it's fun to run the tour on the 1320, but they are twisty lovin' cars laugh

Oh yea, I lost to a 3L SVT wink

Feels sympathy for you but my question about the neon still hasn't been answered of all post above any info ?
all news about is about tours that have been beat no tours have beat other cars? lol

dude, if you're in an eleven second car you're gonna be beatin most everyone out there.

that's a stupid comparison.

if you want a fast car in a straight line buy something with a big v8, or a car with forced induction.
it's the only way it'll happen.

the fact of the matter is an svt will beat most ricers out there. just find out how fast the car is in the 1/4.

svt's run low 15's for the most part
v6's run 16-17's
and zetecs kinda walk

most of your ricers aint that quick

but watch out for some cavaliers. i think the z-24 runs a mid to low 15.

some 4 cylinders will beat v8 i was scared someone would say buy v8 but that takes all the fun out of modding it your self anyone can go out and buy a fast car but its hard to make a slow car fast.
