Look at Gen 2:7 and 1 Cor 15:45. They state in many Bibles that Adam became a living soul. Not he possessed one. The "more than a complex chemical reactions" no doubt referring to the invisible life-force(spirit) that keeps us alive would then stay with a person(a soul) till they died (completely). So no need to worry bout that , only her unfortunate life situation
