No, she can swallow, but only as the bodies natural reflex with saliva. Without this reflex she would have died long ago.
Now, this morning I saw a report from a Neurologist for the parents, it was simply stupid. She made 100% of her diagnosis via video tapes that were close to 10 yrs old, and medical records. She had never even VISITED her in the hospital to do simple reflex tests (because they know she fails those tests, and it makes their point mute). According to Dr. Gupta (a family friend, the same from CNN) her entire cerebral cortex is liquified now, which means 0% chance of recovery. With the amount of medical professionals in my family we've had many discussions about this, unfortunately. We always come to the same conclusion in the end, however...
#1 - It's a sad circimstance, and I'd wish it upon no-one.
#2 - There is nothing anyone can do, she will not get better.
#3 - It is not our right to decide, nor the governments.
