I've come to my own conclusion...when she died for a few minutes 15 years ago, her thinking brain ceased functioning, that's when her soul went to Heaven (or Hell ). So what we have left is an empty shell of a body. She died, but we brought her back artificially without her soul.

Here is the ultimate in hypocracy.
President Bush is quoted as saying that in cases such as these (the Schiavo case), the Executive and Legislative Branches should always err on the side of life.
Meanwhile, there is a law in Texas that expressly gives hospitals the right to remove life support if the patient cannot pay and there is no hope of revival, regardless of the family's wishes . It is called the Texas Futile Care Law. Under this law, a baby was removed from life support against his mother's wishes in Texas just last week.
And yes, it was Governor Bush that signed that Bill into law.

Kind of like...say...becoming upset when Iraqi prisoners are photographed naked but encouraging the starvation of an American?

Oh come Davo, you know those aren't even comparable issues/scenarios. I thought you were better at debate than that. I'm sure it's not that hard to find comparable issues of hypocricy on the part of the Left.

Not the same thing at all. Please stop this mindless BS. This woman has no brain function at all. The family wouldn't even agree to her living will if there had been one. This is simply a family who cannot let go and a sick political party/system that is trying to make a private citizen's matter a political one.
And yes POW's should be treated by the laws of the Geneva Convention; that is to say we shouldn't torture them (Terri is unable to feel anything btw, removing the feeding tube is not torture). Nor should we be keeping them in camps where they have no ability to prove themselves innocent and can treated in anyway that goes against the Geneva Convention. Anyway these two things you bring up have nothing to do with each other.

Like I said before, if Terri Schiavo was a terrorist, the left wouldn't be screaming for her death. But you're right, I could have thought of something better than that.
My opinion is on the fence in this case, but I find it very difficult to be on the same side as people who are so willingly wishing for this person's death. Therefore, I'm actually hoping the right wins this case, if only for political reasons.

No? Must be Maureen Dowd telling her heart to beat and her lungs to respirate. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say she has any kind of quality of life. I'm just calling out a brainless comment.

It's a good thing they didn't keep Rosa Parks' case a 'private' one.

The region from which you posted this makes it so much more interesting.

I think the point is that if Terri Schiavo was the Queen of England the Left wouldn't be screaming for her death either. I can fill the blank with any number of things. That doesn't make it a comparable scenario. Wanting Terri Schiavo to be allowed to die, as purportedly was her desire, is no more related to killing a terrorist than it is to killing the Queen. A desire for one is not at all inclusive of a desire for the other, nor is it remotely hypocritical to believe in one but not the other. I believe you yourself support the Death Penalty, Davo; but I assume you don't support Murder. For many people they are one in the same, but I assume that, to you, they are not.
I think the fundamental difference between opposing views in this case lies between the difference of perception between "killing" and "allowing to die". And you're going to have a hard time convincing one or the other.
