Randall Terry is famous for founding "Operation Rescue" - an anti abortion group in Upstate New York. His main claim to fame is having an $800,000.00 judgment entered against him for unlawfully interfering with family planning clinics. That and parading around with a genuine fetus in a jar of formaldehyde while protesting abortions.
Here are some quotes from Mr. Terry.
"I don't think Christians should use birth control. You consummate your marriage as often as you like and if you have babies, you have babies."
"Let a wave of intolerance wash over you. I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good.... If a Christian voted for Clinton, he sinned against God. It's that simple.... Our goal is a Christian Nation... we have a biblical duty, we are called by God to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want Pluralism. We want theocracy. Theocracy means God rules. I've got a hot flash. God rules."
"When I, or people like me, are running the country, you'd better flee, because we will find you, we will try you, and we will execute you. I mean every word of it. I will make it part of my mission to see to it that they are tried and executed... If we're going to have true reformation in America, it is because men once again, if I may use a worn out expression, have righteous testoserone flowing through their veins. They are not afraid of contempt for their contemporaries. They are not even here to get along. They are here to take over... Somebody like Susan Smith should be dead. She should be dead now. Some people will go, "Well how do you know God doesn't have a wonderful plan for her life?" He does, it's listed in the Bible. His plan for her is that she should be dead."
[Randall Terry, founder of Operation Rescue, at the Aug 8, 1995 U.S. Taxpayers Alliance Banquet in Washington DC, talking about doctors who perform abortions and volunteer escorts]
"Intolerance is a beautiful thing...There are people that are politically correct that want to say the cardinal sin of the hour is intolerance and I think that is a bunch of junk."
"What it is coming down to is who runs the country. It's us against them. It's the good guys versus the bad guys. It's the God-fearing people against the pagans, and some of the pagans are going to church."
"Our goal must be simple. We must have a Christian nation built on God's law, on the ten Commandments. No apologies."
"We want our nation and all its institutions to be self-consciously built on the laws and principles of God's Word...We are at war -- a cultural civil war, a war of allegiances. If righteousness is going to prevail, if paganism is going to be turned back, then we must move to restore this nation to being a Christian Nation."

Mr. Terry's personal life is interesting. After being married to his wife for 16 years or so, he left her and abandoned his children and ran off with his 20-something girlfriend who worked for him at his offices. He went to Nevada, got a quickie divorce from his wife and wed his then pregnant girlfriend.
One of Mr. Terry's sons recently admitted to being a homosexual in Out magazine. Randall Terry vehemently denied that this had anything to do with his parenting and claimed that because the kid was adopted, something must have happened to him before the adoption to have turned the son against God.

Turn that around...
Trust "judges" to completely mess up another item they have absolutely no business getting involved in...
This is real issue behind whole debate. The republicans and thier conservative right puppetmasters, are sick and tired of these "liberal elite" judges changing laws with a drop of the gavel.
What I find disgusting is that, they are using this poor helpless lady for their political battle cry. It is quite amazing how congress (I use that word loosely) and the president were able to come together on a weekend to pass a bill that totally affects nobody, but ONE family. I wish they could have the same ambition to pass some REAL bills that effect people who are actually LIVING. We can start off with the skyrocketing, out of control budget.
Oh, my bad, GOD does not care about defecits.

Don't you get it? State judges are part of the great liberal conspiracy. Federally-appointed judges, on the other hand, are pure of thought and deed, and have no underlying agendas whatsoever.

Though you do it using some terms I would not use, you illustrate a good point here. People have come to accept the judiciary as the 'final say' in pretty much any case the judiciary wants to get involved in. The courts have done well to alter the history of this country, in good and bad ways. Along the way, they have essentially legislated from the bench. Now, the law-making branch of our government has inserted itself into previously judicial matters. Though I should complain much in the same way I do when the courts give us new laws, I think I will just sit and enjoy watching the courts get the tables turned on themselves.
It will be interesting to see whether this case sets any type of precedent.

Nurse: Terri Can Eat Normally
A certified nursing assistant who cared for Terri Schiavo in 1997 filed a sworn affidavit in the case stating that she was able to feed Schiavo normally on multiple occasions - but that husband Michael Schiavo would allow only a feeding tube. (emphasis mine)
Heidi Law, a CNA at the Palm Gardens nursing home, testified:
"At least three times during any shift where I took care of Terri, I made sure to give Terri a wet washcloth filled with ice chips, to keep her mouth moistened. I personally saw her swallow the ice water and never saw her gag.
"[Another CNA] and I frequently put orange juice or apple juice in her washcloth to give her something nice to taste, which made her happy. On three or four occasions I personally fed Terri small mouthfuls of Jello, which she was able to swallow and enjoyed immensely."
Law testified that the only reason she didn't attempt to feed Ms. Schiavo more frequently was "because I was so afraid of being caught by Michael."
Editorializing on the case in light of Law's account, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette said Sunday, "It is one thing to withdraw a feeding tube; another entirely to withhold that day's meal tray."
Carla Sauer Iyer was a registered nurse at the same facility. In her own affidavit Iyer testified that Ms. Schiavo was capable of speech, explaining, "[Terri] spoke on a regular basis, saying such things as 'Mommy' and 'help me.'" (emphasis mine)
When she put a washcloth in Terri's hands to keep her fingers from curling together, Iyer said, "Michael saw it and made me take it out, saying that was therapy" that he had forbidden. (emphasis mine)
"Throughout my time at Palm Gardens, Michael Schiavo was focused on Terri's death," the RN noted. "Michael would say 'When is she going to die?' 'Has she died yet?' and 'When is that [censored] gonna die?'"

But, NOOOOO, Mr. A-hole Schiavo is just a regular nice guy who truly loves his poor Terri, right?

Come on? NewsMax? The Weekly World News of the Uber-Conservative World? That e-rag will print anything. Those same "nurses" are quoted as also saying that Terri cried and begged the doctors not to remove her feeding tube and said "Please don't kill me" when the doctors came in to remove her feeding tube.

The highlighted statement right there gives this whole article an air of disbelief. If a person did make that statement then, they would not talk like that. If you gotta
"fluff" something up, then most likely, your lying.
The selected highlighted text clearly shows how judgemental people can be when they DON'T even know what is going on. Are you in Micheal's shoes? Do you know what this man is going through or even how he feels? So, you have no right to call the man a [censored] in this situation. Nobody on this planet knows what they would do in his situation UNLESS they were put in his situation.
So, stop playing "arm chair quarterback".
Now I hate America? That is a new one to me.

Wow, what does that prove? You can take random quotes from anyones life over 20 years and come up with anything you want!
In any case, what does this have to do with passing a bill to satisfy the religious right?
