I hope you're kidding here... it's necessary for politicians to come out in full force for these emotional/sensationalistic cases because that's exactly what solidifies support from special interest groups (especially the religious lobby, as is the case here).



Sorry, I am not kidding. I dont think the GOP would lose any support from their religious base had bush and congress not passed and signed this bill. Especially given the current crippled state of the DNC.
