I would advocate a means of alleviating the pain of starvation while nobody provides additional meals in the feeding tube (disconnection is really a misnomer from what I have seen) through pain medications and medications which trick the stomach to "think" it's full over an actual lethal injection.
The husband's motives are under open attack. Why are the parent's motives pure by definition that they don't want the feedings stopped? Their reasons could possibly be every bit as selfish as the ones they are trying to pin on the husband.
