I've told my fiancee many times. If I'm ever in that state, take me out back, put two bullets in the back of my head, just to make sure I'm done and done quick. At least I won't see it coming.
That, IMO, is not living. That's being sustained. She'll never leave that room, never walk, likely never talk, never have human contact other than grunts and groans.
Yes, food, air, and water are all necessary to be kept alive, but human contact, conversation, mobility are ALL factors in being ALIVE. Yes, her body is alive, but, she will never really LIVE again.
Put yourself in her situation- have someone strap all your limbs down and tape your mouth shut around a feeding tube. You can't move, can't talk, can't truly emote anything. Would you want to be left like that? Me? No. No way.
