A feeding tube is a form of artifical life support. It is as natural of a process as a breathing machine. I am not saying this to villify feeding tubes, but to refute claims that they are a medical therapy rather than life support.

From looking at both sides, I truly think it is time to let her go. If she has an awareness (which has been disputed), several days of what is increasing pain is bad... but the extreme liklihood of decades of her existing state is far worse. I think her husband has been totally within his rights to let go and to keep fighting for her right to die, and also within his rights to have go on with his life.

I see far more humanity and compassion in letting her go than in forcing her to remain in this condition for what likely will be decades.
