Hey Guys,

96 Contour Zetec 4cyl 150.000km bin idling rough/rolling especially when cold. Sometime stalls but start up quickly, drives fine at highway speeds. I found the breather hose disconnect from the valve cover about a month ago, seems the dealer forgot to reattach it after a water pump job.
Tub has been disconnected for over 3 months. Any relation between the two???

That's a DPFE Sensosr Hose Unplugged error. Probably is related if that hose was supposed to be connected to the DPFE.

Well , I just finshed verifing the tubes going to the dpfe sensor, boy is it inconvient. You have to take out the whole air intake system. Anyhow one of the tubes was almost disconnected, right on the edge. I took out both tubes and ran compressed air threw them, both were clean.

I started the car and check engine still on. I guess I'm going to have to drive it around before the check engine light turn off. Otherwise I'm going have to delete the code.

Would the dpfe sensor cause the engine to idle rough, Since it's related to the egr valve. I'm wondering if the egr can get stuck causing the rough idle??

When the hose blows off again, be prepared to address the partially clogged cat converter.

It is causing the backpressure that blew the hose.
