Been thinkin' that turning the 2.5 into RWD would be a pain, so how 'bout if I stuffed a 4.6L V-8 under the hood & cherry picked a tranny to drive the rear wheels? Functional scoop or cowl to clear the slightly taller engine... Combining a cross member & subframe to support the thing would be tricky if I wanted to maintain as much of the front suspension as possible.

Be an interesting project though, wouldn't it....?

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I normally don't respond to your posts, but seeing as how you jump all over others including mine with 1/2 wit remarks all the time, for no reason...

High 12s on slicks. Um ok..
so you are saying if your contour was RWD, you could hang with a 333 hp RWD M3 in the quarter? Cus my dog can pull low 13s in one of those, stock ....high 12s with a good driver and some sticky tires. My bros old 600 hp camaro ss ran 12s "all day" so, no it would still be hard for you to run 12s.

It's not that FWD sucks. A RWD 1200 hp viper will have a hard time at times because of too much power for traction.
FWd Pro street cars run high 9s low 10 all the time.
It;s the contour platform, the way the car is engineered, weight distribution, position of the diff etc that affects the traction and makes fwd annoying for our cars.

I would say that Demon has about the same power/weight ratio as an M3, so if it was RWD, then they would be about equal... and he has mid-13 numbers with serious traction issues, so I don't see why that's unbelievable.

Want to put your foot in your mouth now, or would you like me to drive up to Canada and help you with that? If you had been paying ANY attention since you joined the boards 5 months ago, you would know that he's already hit a 13.4 with drag radials on his FWD Contour!! Take that same power to weight ratio in that same Contour with a RWD platform AND slicks, and he could "probably"(as he said) run 12's..

Now, that hole you were digging yourself.... It just got a lot deeper

Run slicks, get a set of axles that won't break , run solid engine mounts, an LSD, and install a set of traction bars so the front can't lift, I'm confident that there is more than one car around here that can run 12's (Demon included)

yes, 9 lb/hp in the right setup can hit 12.xxx. We have guys around 8 lb/hp. There are two issues with acceleration: traction and power. Demon has the power. Burrita and the other turbo guys REALLY have the power. Traction can be had in droves with a good RWD suspension setup and drag slicks. Hell, SVTprodigy might have 500 crank hp and 3300lb curb weight if he gets that multi-billion dollar thing running. Go look at the numbers for the Ford GT: identical. 'nuff said.

I will have a full t4 so boost will kick in more around 3500-4000. With my set up for my top end i should hit twelves easy. We will see though...I will not get boost as quick but i will have traction and make power where i need it. Instant boost is not always the best...People might rip on me for lag but when i beat them int the quater i will be laughing back... who shifts below 4000 rpms anyways when they are racing?

PLEASE HELP ME GET MY CAR TOGETHER! ITS IN DAYTON OHIO! I need the motor together and in the car so i can DRIVE it! Pleeeeeese! diamond pistons for 3.0/forsale #702 of 2150

I would guess more like 4500 to maybe 5000 with a "full" T4 of any real size. It will take noticeably longer to spool up the larger exhaust housing and wheel verses a T3/4 hybrid. Especially with a low compression engine of only 3 liters displacement.

Also even with a large bypass valve you are still going to have a bit of lag after each shift trying to respool the larger wheel.

You may want to look into a full ceramic ball bearing center section and modified wheels. However that will likely make the turbo itself as much as building an entire system yourself. (i.e. 2k range)

Either way it sounds like a dyno queen to me...
