Neither would I. I did the same "mod" on my truck.

I hung my muffler with bailing wire for a week when the hanger broke off. It swung back and forth like it wasnt connected to the rest of the exhaust. Thats about as ghetto as I have been with the car. The truck on the other hand....

one of my hid's has a short in the wiring harness, but it's been so cold lately i can't fix it. It's really hard to splice wires when you can't feel your fingers. So anyway, I just taped the wires up to the radiator support in a position where the light works.

my friends grandpa broke a connecting rod in his tractor so instead of buy a new one he widdled one out of wood and used that... the scarey thing is that the motor actually ran with it in.... for about 10 sec then boom

Just the mear (sp?) fact in ran period is a shocker... the compression seems too be to stong for wood, so I wouldn't even though it would have run at all.

Pre 98... You have probably the nicest pre 98 contour I've seen... very good job with it!

one of my teacher used JB weld to make flywheel teeth once, another stopped a radioator leak with dropping some eggs into it and another one has a tempo that the rear suspensos is totally rotted out so he has metal bars and stuff attached to the strut and stuff to hold it on, but 2 of those cars were finished off yesterday with a little demolishion derby

Yup. 6 months with a muffler swinging around on some very thin wire. My mechanic gave me a pretty funny look when I tried to pass inspection that way. Oh, and the little exhaust tip rusted through and hung down, so I broke it off. Then there was just a hole in the muffler. Then more holes appeared in the muffler...

i had a mazda truck i used to love dragging on the ground all over the place. well, in the beginning, before we relocated the gas tank to the bed, it hund a bit too low and would sometimes hit stuff. eventually, it got a nice little hole in it. i used the old bar soap trick to seal it in and it never leaked again

this just reminded me of another one, dont know if it counts as a ghetto fix.
my friend had a nardi steering wheel on his truck. someone broke in and stole it. he drove home using a pair of vice grips as his steering wheel.
