I was checking the oil yesterday before going on a little trip out of town. While doing one of my routine checks inspect the oil on the dip stick for color&smell "the oil had gas smell to it". Should I really worry about this and park my car, I haven't noticed any change in my mileage so if there is leak its nothing major yet. Im planning an upper end tear down this spring UIM, LIM, TB, new IAC, gaskets... could this wait till then and add o-rings replacement to my do list. All the research I did narrows it down to a leaky o-ring but Im no expert here could there be anything else causing this.

Well oil should smell like oil. A good (and too late) indicator of a blown gasket is a gas smell in the coolant. Or even bubbling in the coolant reservoir when the car is turned off.

Some gas in the oil is very normal, especially if you do a lot of short trip driving. If the oil level is still normal (not way overfull) you probably have nothing to worry about. An engine running rich enough to cause any serious fuel dilution would probably set a check engine light and have very noticably black exhaust.
You may only need to drive a bit more or perhaps you are ready for an oil change.

Wow are you spying on me. lately all i'm doing is short trips "no more than 5min drives" and i'm 200 miles due for oil change. no black smoke and oil level was a little low, i actually added half a quart "something usually i dont do add oil between changes". well i'm getting the oil changed tomorrow and i'll keep checking for gas smell and for my gas milage. thanks,
