I listen to techno often, and am right now, and just wanted to post to see if anyone else listens to it. If you do, what are some of your favorite, or liked artists, and CD's?

Some of mine are: DaRude, Cascada, Abba, Paul Oakenfold, DJ Sammy, DJ HyDrO, DJ Tiesto.

CD's are mostly the Clubber's Euphoria selection, and some others.

Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.

Right on!

I am normally on the chillout section of di.fm and sometimes the vocal trance. I generally only buy downtempo stuff and only see trance dj's live.

Paul Oakenfold, Chemical Brothers/Crystal Method, Fluke and Juno Reactor are the most notable ones.

I'm not heavy into that style of music (flamenco, jazz/blues and good 'ol rock are more my forte), but I do listen to it occasionally.

Outside of the well-known and big names in electronica/trance, I've found it difficult to find fresh tunes, though I'll freely admit I don't look very hard. It seems like a good 90% of it is repetitive and regurgitated to a great degree (OK, the repetitive part comes with the genre, but there is such a thing as TOO much).

In any case, it serves nicely as background or workout music; you don't have to pay attention to it and it doesn't require a trained ear to enjoy it.

People will hate the newbie (me) making a fuss this thread..

I've been a DJ for quite sometime (electro/tech house) now and I'm VERY anti tiesto, jokenfold and any other trance ninny pretty much like any other dj out there..

As well as the use of the word "Techno" is improper, since Techno is own its completely unique style of edm (electronic dance music). Quite possibly techno is the most opposite EDM style to trance. Trance is considered mainstream sell out junk where as to someone in the scene, techno is considered to be underground. Actually a true techno style fan would take major offense to this.

If anyone here would like get to know Techno better PM before memorial day weekend as I throw a fairly huge afterparty at DEMF (detroit electronic music fest), this year the name is FUSE-IN DETROIT. Any native detroiters know of this event as it pulls in almost 2,000,000 people to hart plaza for a weekend.

MORE INFO ON DEMF: http://www.fuse-indetroit.com/index2.html
Last year our after party had 550 people (capacity was 100% filled) at the detroit artist's market right on Wayne State's campus. More info on the party will be over at m3-ent.com

Pretty much I DJ pretty much 4-5 hours a day here's my setup as of right now:

My top 3 favorite DJs are:
-James Holden
-Petter
-Infusion

Honorable mentions goto:
Seb Fontaine, Timo Maas

If anyone of you want to listen to some real banging bassy EDM feel free to PM me. Id goto extreme lengths to get people off the mainstream.

Cheers -Danylo

I'm with you... though I'm no DJ... There's not too much new stuff that I like, so I still play the 'older' tracks:

Orbital, Underworld, Delerium, Aphex Twin, Hybrid, Massive Attack and such...

"Popular" dj's: Oakenfold, Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Armand van buren

Lesser known international dj's: Blank & Jones, ID&T, Doboy

And then here in NY there are the "local" DJ's: Johnny Vicious, Tony Draper (see them every friday night at avalon NYC), Jonathan Peters, Davis Morales...and Peter Teneglia, who is becoming very popular very fast.

Class act, 100% genuine nice guy as well as blank and jones...

Alot fo those trance DJs are talentless hacks who we even hate to bring in.. Example paul oakenfold is the b. spears of EDM. He does nothing, getts all his studio work done for him and plays a few shows to make it label $
