Careful with those rope lights ... they can get VERY hot afer a while. One of my roommates nearly burned down our apartment leaving them on near his bedsheets - put nice big black holes in the sheets! 
we almost burned down my friend's bar in his basement because they got so hot the paint on the wall was melting.
