Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooo much for your help. I'll be getting the E0 cluster for it and this time I won't mess around with it. Live and learn.

I just had another gut wrenching thought. Is it possible I could have fried something by using the E1 cluster in the car for a short amount of time when seeing if it worked?

I highly doubt it. I used my friends 98.5 cluster in my car once to test something and mine worked fine after I put mine back in.

But while I used his cluster in my car it gave the same problems you desribed with yours.

Yah, I realized after thinking about it for a bit that the odometer's still work correctly so it should still be getting the signals from the PCM.

Well I got the cluster from the previous picture out of an E0, but when I put it in all it did was smoke and burn 2 tracks on the circuit board. Guess it's time to go back to a '96 cluster.

Well I was finally able to get the SVT gauges installed and working today. I may write up a how to (more of a how I did it) if people are interested.

you can calibrate the temp and fuel easy:
Fill the tank up - set the needle to full.

Drive the car for 1/2 hr set needle between "N" and "O" in the word "NORMAL" - to verify the temp needle position, your engine cooling fans will turn on when the temp needle is pointing directly upward also...
