Expatriates living in foreign countries quite often experience a far different life than those that grow up as indigenous citizens.
I've spent time in Austria (Vienna and it's outskirts); it's a great place to visit, but I don't know if I'd be happy living there as a citizen. I lived in France close to a year; same situation.
In fact, there have been few countries I've visited, worked in or lived in that I would prefer to have citizenship in over the US.
