Hey guys ran a search for a couple diffrent keywords and did not come up with anything (engine wire harness, return, returnless, engine harness).

I ahve a 98 SVT that i just pulled the motor on and the 3L is almost built and on the engine stand.

The small harness that goes on top of the engine has not been replaced and the insulation is in BAD condition. NOW: I have a great condition harness from a late 99 contour se lying around. Now i know they had returnless so there is an extra plug for the pressure transducer. From the wiring schematics ive found, the only diffrence is this sensor taps ref power and ground from the TPS and has 1 extra wire to the PCM. Now if this is the only change.....

can this harness be swaped with the return system on my contour? or is there some change I overlooked?

Also, Ive read many articles about having to drill and tap for the knock sensor. but im still not understanding why and where. Can someone link me to picturres/a good article?
