Eh, we all do it. I noticed he has a K&N gold he's testing now. I'll be looking for the results on that one.

thanks for the link, i saw it for the first time.

i had a bad experience with fram and have never used it since. i have heard bad stories about FRAM and these forums/sites confirm it. It's annoying how the guys at Murray's always come up to you and recommend FRAM as their best filter, better than Purolater or Mobil 1. I just tell them I'm not going to buy FRAM, that i'm all set but they often ask why and start arguing with me that I don't know what i'm talking about. I don't know much like Bobistheoilguy, but i know to stay away from FRAM. thank god for these 'studies'

on both my vehicles i use the OEM filters. the contour i use the motorcraft as it is better then the fram and is around the same price. On my 98 civic i use a S2000, the JDM version because it is bigger and has a bettter filtering capability compared to the stock one.

I agree, the Motorcraft is probably the best filter you can put on a Ford. Everything I've read about it on bobistheoilguy.com has been very favorable. Plus, since I let the dealer do all my oil changes, I don't have much of a say on what filter goes on my car, so if its stock Motorcraft, it's OK with me.

That study is a classic and great info. However, some things can't be tested in a lab, such as leakage when mounted. I ran across that issue after using a NADA Gold filter once. Went back to Motorcraft the next time and no more leakage.

Edit to the above: I meant NAPA, not NADA
