As a good side story... one of my dad's customers was a total hillbilly... he walks into a Chevy dealership looking for a salesman. Noone will talk to him, so he sits down, and realizes the sole is coming off of his shoe, so he starts flipping it around. Finally, someone comes over to him and asks him "is there something I can help you with?" in a very sarcastic tone... he says no and leaves.
He drives to another Chevy dealership where he walks in and is greeted immediately by a salesman. "How can I help you today, sir?" They go about their business, and as he's closing the deal he says "do me a favor... call Kelley Chevy up and tell them that the old country boy with the busted shoe just bought 15 pickup trucks"
Despite being a total hick, he was the founder/CEO of a $100 million plus manufacturing company and was buying company trucks. (He also owns Winchester Speedway, "The fastest half-mile track in the world")
Anthony "Spag" Borghatti (RIP), owner of a well known huge general store complex ("Spags," RIP also ) in Shrewsbury MA, had a similar story floating in rumors here ... only it was a Cadillac dealership and he wanted to buy two Caddies. Well known for his cowboy hat, the first salesman actually shunned him away but the next dealership (further away, mind you) recognized him immediately and asked how many.
