I'm tired of Capacitors. There's gotta seriously be something that I'm not doing, because every capacitor I get doesn't do me any good.
So let me tell you the situation. I have my nifty KnuKonceptz 1.0 Farad Digital Capacitor hooked to my Punch 500a2. 8 gauge wire comes from the battery to the positive side of the cap, then from the positive post of the cap through a 60A fuse and to the power input on the amp. Ground wire comes out of the amp, to the negative post on the capacitor, then from that post to a nut on the tail light (the area around it has the paint scraped). When I have the car running, the digital display reads in the neighborhood of 14.4 and when I turn the car off, it reads between 12.6 and 12.8. The problem is when I'm listening to the music and driving, after about 1 minute of low bass the lights start to dim and the bass doesnt sound as clean. I parked in a parking lot and played "woofer cooker" and when the first note in the song dropped, the digital display went from 14.4 to 12.8.
What is the problem? It actually seems like the lights dim more now that I have the cap. If the solution is upgrading the stock wiring, I would love to do that if I had adequate space to trace where the wiring goes. Anyone have a how-to on doing this? thanks for the help
