That process has a lot of unnecessary steps in it. You should choose either #7 or DC polish since they do the same thing (#7 would be my choice). Note: #80 could be used to replace the Zymol pre-cleaner wax and the polish step. #20 has some level of cleaning in it, so it should go on directly after #7 (or DC polish). Using the #20 after Gold Class will probably remove most of the wax that you just spent a good amount of time putting down! Then, if desired, top #20 with either #26 or Gold Class. When you do get NXT, that can be substituted for #20. You also didn't mention a clay bar. For the best appearance possible, I would highly recommend this step. Here's my recommended process w/ your products:

Wash
Zymol paint cleaner
#7
#20
#26

Here's the process that I use:

Wash
Clay Bar
#80
#81 (polish)
#20
#26

Sometimes I also throw a #83 in before the #80 for a really good cleaning. For an in-between major detailing detail, I do:

Wash
#80
#20

I spend as much time on Meguiarsonline.com as I do here, so I've come quite familiar w/ the recommended process. I would highly recommend visiting Meguiars to see what's going on in the detail world.

Thanks for the details. Ill probably try both processes and see which turns out the best. After all, you can never wax it to much!

Applied in this order:

Zymol precleaner wax
Meguairs #7 Glaze
Meguairs Deep Crystal System Polish
Meguairs Gold Class Wax
Meguairs #20 Polymer Sealent
Meguairs #26 High Tech Yellow Wax
Meguairs Mediallion Premium Paint Protection

Soon to make it an 8 step this summer with Meguiars NXT wax.

Can't wait!

AKA the process for people who have way too much time on their hands . Like the previous poster said, there are some unneeded steps in there, not to mention the order that they are applied.

Anyways, I washed my car today at a quarter wash, and holy [censored] Im kinda pissed because on the drivers side of my car, the paint is a little rough. Theres some minor scratches and some spots where some white is showing through, I dont know if they're dings or what. The passanger side looks sweet, but the drivers side......

My neighbors always say I'm going to wax the paint off my car, but my car is still shinier than theirs so I must be doing something right

Just bought a Porter Cable Dual Action Polisher (#7336). Tried it out over the week end on my daughters 1998 with dark green paint. Washed the car, clayed it, washed the car, Megiuiars #83 with the polisher, Mequiar's show car glaze applied by hand, and then NXT wax. For a 1998 looks almost brand new. Obviously did not get out the chips but got rid of almost all the swirls and spider webs.

That's some sig! When are you going to put SVT heads and a turbo on the Taurus? Same end product as a 3L, but from the opposite direction! Or maybe an SHO engine?

I purchased the PC polisher last year and have loved it ever since. Suppose to reduce your wax time to about 1/4 that required to do stuff by hand. I find myself doing more steps and waxing more often now, so I think I spend more time detailing w/ the PC than I did b4!
