You do have to admire the Vulcan's alternator location though!

thanks again for the pictures...I should have been able to tell just by looking at the valve covers. Just for conversation what is a better motor the duratech or the vulcan? What stock HP and Torque do they both have? I noticed that you guys don't use the SVT lim/uim, the sable/taurus/escape that much better?

Over at TCCoA (Taurus Car Club of America) there are some modded Vulcans...but its no HP brute even in modded form. The Duratec is a much better motor when it comes to modding and handling HP, IMO. Most people do use the SVT UIM/LIM in their 3.0L swaps. I think they posted the full 3.0L swaps so you knew what to look for in a salvage complete motor. the 3.0L v 2.5L intakes is a debated topic. My personal opinion is the 2.5L intakes suit our cars powerband much butter...

I was pretty excited to find that motor, I really wish it would have been what I needed. I will keep looking and when I find one I will be back in the 3L forum asking many questions. Again, thanks for the pictures and the quick responses!!!

Well, the Vulcan makes what 130-40hp? The 3.8 has head gasket issues. The Vulcun won't bolt up.

And it's Duratec, not Duratech
