Hey everyone! Ive spent about 4 hours today looking at the different vendors and prices for exhaust and a Cold Air Intake for my 98 E1. Im still not sure which is the best for the money. I would think the MSDS headers but I dont know about the Y pipe. Are the SHO Shop Ys w/ cats a good piece? And what about the cat-back?
The CAI piece, Ill probably get from the SHOshop, as they are only $104. They are $30 off right now.

So far the only mods to the motor are a K&N and a Superchip. Neither of which I felt an improvement in power.
I want to keep this a bolt-on affair and the exhaust doesnt have to be stainless, but I do want the cats on the Y pipe. Thanks for all your input. smile

The y-pipe is a great mod, and you will notice an improvement in performance.

If you didn't notice a difference in the superchip then good luck. That more than anyting you sould have noticed. You do know that with ANY mod you will not automatically be thrown back in your seat Fast and Furious style. That takes a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$...... Y-pipe and a full exaust you sould notice a difference. If you don't with that then you better just save about 6-G's for that turbo kit or sell your car. Sounds like you expect too much for too little mula.

"If you didn't notice a difference in the superchip then good luck. That more than anyting you sould have noticed." Not entirely true. As stated by many people in here, some superchips have resulted in great performance gains, while others have not. From what I understand, it has alot to do with your computer code.

Best bang for the buck, at least for my car, Gut the precats and install mil eliminators, Sho shop y pipe, remove resonator, port maf, port and remove the back side of the TB butterfly bar, K&N cone air filter or equivalent, and maybe try the IAT resistor mod. This has been great for my car with no driveability issues. All cars react differently. The only real cost is the y pipe, air filter and time. $450 and about 10-15 fwhp if you are lucky.

Well, if you noticed my signature I have a truck that Ive spent a few $$ on. So I know what it takes to go fast. (thats an outdated sig # also)This car will be lucky to ever go 14.9s. If it takes a LOT of money to do that, your probably right, Ill sell it.

Now, I dont want to hollow out any cats or anything like that. I will remove the factory parts and install new ones and keep the stock ones for reinstall if needed. Thats what Im looking for. So does this look right to you guys??

MSDS headers
SHOShop Ypipe w/cat
what type of cat-back???
SHOShop CAI
SHOShop underdrive pulleys

Will this work nicely together? Thanks again for all your input. smile

The MSDS headers come with a Y-pipe (tuned package) unless you order it from the .... at SHOShop.

Definitely skip the UDP's! Get a Dual Mode Damper or leave it alone.

You can make a better intake by just getting a MAF adapter, K&N conical, and a heatshield.

I would modify the stock exhaust (high flow resonator & straight through rear mufflers) or buy one of the 3 B's (Bassani, Borla, or Brullen) ($$$)

Throw another motor in the back for the rear wheels. If you gut it enough I bet you could get it to almost stock weight.

Thanks for the replys everyone. Im going to get the MSDA headers first. Where do I order it to get the header/Y-pipe combo??
I think the headers with the Brullen cat-back would sound good and give some needed extra horses. Thanks again.
