Just got a call from my closest friend from Tennessee. She had been sick with what she thought was the flu for a week or so. She got a little better so we thought all was good, but her liver tests came back, and they weren't good news.

She has Hepatitis B.

I was awestruck beyond belief. I just didn't know what to say. I wanted to help her SOMEHOW, and I did what I could by just listening since I know that's all she really wanted, but this is a very close childhood friend. We've been getting along since we were 11 or so, barely into middle school.

I can't even go to work today without feeling sickened. All I've done is keep her in my thoughts and I have to ask CEG to please do the same. I, and she, would greatly appreciate it.

Damn that sucks. She should get better, I don't think Hep B is as deadly as it was a long time ago. Good luck to you and her.

My advice is to keep your head high. Be energetic and keep being the person you usually are.

I had a phone call two years ago that my Dad was being rushed back to the hospital (from 1st day of nursing home) and it wasn't looking good. I waited an hour before I did anything to take my mind off it. When 7 pm came my grandfather clock didn't chime; it stopped completely. It freaked me out. So I went to my workplace and goofed off to pass the time. Later that day, around 9, My family came home to tell me my Dad passed away..shortly after 7pm. I'm one who's yet to define his religion, so that messed me up for a while.

I hope your friend will be fine and if anything starts to bother you, go chill out with friends or do something that keeps your mind busy. A good rts or rpg game always worked for me. Or better yet, make fun of people on forums.

Well when dealing with diseases of this nature, it's something that needs considered.
