You'll need to "rent" spring compressors to disassemble the stock struts and retrieve the upper retainers and strut bearings, unless you buy brand new parts.
Some people have been able to assemble without compressors, but I found I had to use the compressors again on the Roush/Koni combo.
Either way, the kits don't come pre-assembled.
