Earlier this week, my car stopped moving forwards or backwards. My sister was using the car.... It was in gear and she was lighly accelerating when this happened.
The tranny had been not acting up, no weird noises, and had JUST completed a 200 mile highway trip. The tranny had fluid, it was fresh probably 5000 miles ago.
All gears including reverse can still be selected. When I let the clutch out, the speedo goes up. Under the car, there is NO movement from the transmission, as in neither of the axle shafts are turning from the tranny. My best guess is that something in the differential let loose, but does anyone else have any suggestions?

i dont know the specific's of the MTX-75, but it sounds like you blew out the differential. but like i said i dont know exactly what part of the tranny the speedo gets its info. But if it will go in gear and the speedo goes up and the car does not move, it is most likely the Differential. If you do decide to replace it, get a performance one so that this stuff dont happen again

Sounds like a broken clutch. Diff doesn't go out without a bang and a cracked trans case with fluid everywhere.
Chances are the disk is broken at the hub or the friction material is gone and it is spun out.
Figure $600-$1000 unless you do it yourself.

Woo hoo...
I disagree.
The speedometer (VSS) would not go up if the clutch was not linking the engine to the transmission.
I would most likely surmise a broken axle shaft.
Worst case scenario even broken spider gears but that's more unlikely.
You can break the spider gears without catastrophic transmission failure.

It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.

Speedo?
For some reason I thought he meant tachometer. Then I stand corrected. IT probably is a broken axle shaft since that will allow the differential to spin. Still, it probably isn't a broken differential, especially if he is getting a speedo signal.

Yeah Yeah.
Disagree that it is a clutch I hope, not about the diff.
