every pic I've seen of this HU on (Alpine's website, Crutchfield, etc.) only the letters/numbers etc. that is supposed to be displayed are displayed brightly....the rest of the display is solid black (i.e you can't see other icons/unlit numbers). In other words in the pics you wouldn;t even know the other icons, unlit items were there b/c the rest of the screen is black besides what is supposed to be lit up.
On mine everything seems to be dimly lit and the things that are supposed to be displayed are a decent amount brighter, but you can still see the rest of the stuff. Like I said I don;t know if this is normal or normal for Alpine or whether I save something messed up here or a defective HU. Any advice,tips, etc would be apreciated.
