Yes, but the only difference on the bell housing was that the upper right bolt was offset by about 1/2".
The space for the upper right bolt to be tapped into the block was already designed into it so you could either tap a second hole in the block for the upper right bell housing bolt, or you could drill a hold in the transmission next to the other one.
The latter is what I did and I did a few cool things to make the mounting ear on the bellhousing stronger. Now my transmission can fit either 98 or 99+ blocks with either bolt hole.
This really wasn't a difficult problem to overcome and although tapping the engine to provide the "right" bolt hole would be the stronger of the two solutions, I never broke anything on my engine with tapping the trans mounting ear and I was running it that way with the turbo.
