Oil is a major 'coolant' in modern engines, thicker oil flows slower and retains heat within bearings and engine, lighter oil flows better and takes heat away from bearings etc...nope never run with heavy oil,instant death to modern dohc motors...retain the the stoc oil cooler,fit a remote filter and an air to oil cooler,NAPA does a good one by Hayden #ATP-1-7505 .
