Never replaced an alternator. Charging system has never been an issue. This is only the second problem I've had with the car. The first one was the moosing which I took care of with the 1/2 inch copper pipe cap with the hole drilled in the middle. No vacuum leak they checked for that. Oh yeah I also replaced the waterpump BEFORE it went bad, due to hearing all the horror stories. All of the other common stuff like Brakes, Rotors, Wires and Plugs, Battery have been done, which I don't consider a problem, comes with regular maintenance.
