The stock sender sends a signal to the PCM. The PCM does not track the actual "oil pressure" but it does have preset code that can distinguish "too high" or "too low" oil pressure based on the voltage signal.




So if you happened to throw the stock sender and the gauge cluster bulb out the window, it wouldn't make any difference?
