Well...I think I still have an airbox to play with. I would think the best thing to do would be to just try and find a way to make a real true cold air intake in the fender....The issue that has been brought up before is that after trying to make a functional Cold Air Box, it turns into an airbox similar to the OEM one that was on the car. My argument is ok, if we make a box for the Z application, why not go the next level and find a way to do what we intend and cool the air charge. I think that Vortec made one but it was for its supercharger applications. What if....
I think the best bet is to paint that sukka! Again the argument can be taken this way...the difference between the Duratec vs the Zetec and why the cool airbox works well for the Duratec. The TB is just right there, LOL. The issue with the Zetec is...well ok, so we make a box that brings in cooler air at the filter. What about when you run the rest of the intake tube to the TB? So then the issue is...and not a bad point...we can cool the air hitting the filter but, we need to make sure that this cool charge doesn't get lost by the time it hits the TB. So, you can do this to some degree by making sure that you put some form of jet-hot on the intake tube itself.
Some foood for thought fo sho! Let's look at this at the meet!!!!
