Actually lots of times. BBall coach was convicted of statutory rape, and Pierre Pierce of University of Iowa BBall team played in our school for 4 years. Also convicted of rape and is now in his second bout with, guess what? Yep, rape!!! Like coach, like player.

Even made the national news.....

That was [censored] insane.

Small towns in this state take sports too seriously sometimes.

I completely agree.
My sister went to school with one of the daughters and was good friends with her for many years. She gave some lame excuse why her Dad did what he did. But now he has like 20 charges against him for being an idiot.

What the article didnt say was that no players were involved in the fight, but some Bernalillo players trashed the visitors locker room before they left... I swear, the only news coverage that New Mexico gets is always bad

The only TV/media coverage my highschool has ever gotten was on the local news channel for some "great" accomplishment, or on a channel 4 special sports show, celebrating, and looking on high school sports...

Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.

Yeah though he was selling it. It is illegal, and even if it shouldn't be illegal, he is a teacher and shouldn't be commiting felonies.

Selling pot isn't a felony it's a misdemenor, like littering.

Wrong. In most states possesion over an ounce is a felony. There are also laws on cultivation, which is done differently by each state. Either weighed or just count the plants. 5 plants is enough for a felony in some states. Also if he had any amount near the school it can be a felony.

In Florida, if he has over 20 grams, it's a felony. If he had over 25 lbs being cultivated, then it's a felony, which I'm sure he had well over 25 lbs.

I think Nevada is really strict on possesion being a felony.

Remember back in about 1997 when there was the big deal about school clubs, mainly the ones for gay students? One student commited suicide on stage, after hours. It was all over the national news and IIRC they ended up banning all non-acedemic clubs.....including my paintball team/club

Also, that tub of ish Rosanne Bar went there during her youth.

Students stage walk-out against school club ban

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (CNN) -- Students at Salt Lake City high schools staged a walkout Friday, protesting the school board's ban of all extracurricular clubs to avoid having a lesbian and gay student club. (43K AIFF sound or 43K WAV sound)

400 students protested at East High School, while 200 walked out at West High and marched a mile to the state Capitol. Another 100 students watched the protest at East High, including a group of boys hoisting a sign reading "SAFE -- Students Against Faggots at East."

The school board voted 4-3 on Tuesday to ban all clubs, rather than permit a gay-straight student alliance at East High.

Also on Friday, the state legislature passed a bill prohibiting teachers from condoning illegal conduct in schools. The bill's opponents called it a swipe at gay clubs.

What ended up happening was a 4 hour lockdown with the State Police, county sherrif and local PD doing a complete sweep of the school. The boys failed to maintain their story when grilled by the police and they were subsequently charged with false reporting and were expelled from school.

I can one-up you. Eric Harris (of columbine fame) went to my junior high school. We hung out a few times, but I wouldn't exactly say we were buddies.
