bl11298, you will never keep up with a stock mustang gt(mtx) unless you spend several k$$$$. Anyway, keep in mind that the svt is a small engine and is already tweeked pretty good. If you mess with the settings too much, you might end up loosing power! Anyway, start with exhaust and intake. The borla exaust will give you the most torque, but the bassani will sound like a mustang. Do not buy a kkm intake, you will only loose power. Get a k&N set up with a heat shield similar to what I have. A diablo chip may also be a good investment($220). If you want to put down good number on the drag strip, get drag radials for your front wheels, they will keep you running in the high 14s or lower with mods! You can also upgrade to the E1 upper and lower intake manifolds, which will give you 5-10hp. For more money, there is the faulty vortec sc and the 3L swap
Intake: $100 5hp
Exhaust: $550 8hp
Diablo chip: $220 6hp
Front Drag radials: .3-.4 sec off 1/4 mile $300
E1 upper intake manifld: $250??? 3hp
E1 lower intake manifld: $200??? 2hp
Y-pipe: $200 8hp??
Vortec supercharer: $3500 80hp??
3L swap: $2500-10000 5-40hp, 20-40 ftlbs trq
NOS: $500-1000 40-who knows hp
you are probably pushing 160hp at the wheels bone stock. With lots of non-aspirated mods you can be in the 180 range. This would be around 220-230 horse power at the crank, so that is about the same as a stock 5.0 mustang, however the mustang will have much more torque. The new 4.6 run 260-280 hp depending on the year.
With mods, you will most likely run high 14's if u are lucky.
WIth mods, most stangs will be running high 13's, and low 14s(high 13 if 2001 or newer) stock
*I am not an expert at this, so keep that in mind. People weren't giving you very thorough answeres so i thought i would through in what i could. I'm sure i missed a lot. Maybe an expert can give some more advice
