where does that hole go? as you have seen i am going to get an accusump set-up for my car and am trying to decide whether to use the sandwich filter adapter or try someway to plumb it straight to the block which may be a better set-up. i thought if that hole led straight to the oil galleys i would try to plumb it to that hole.
thanks

There's a passage behind it which feeds oil to all the main bearings and the chain tensioners. On some Lincoln LS & Jag versions of the Duratec, and oil temp. switch is installed in that hole instead of a plug.

I'm not 100% positive, but if you have an SVT you can not use the sandwich adapter, because of the oil cooler.

If installing into the plugged hole, you will need an angled adapter to avoid a/c clearance issues...

I'll have pics of my install within 48 hours...

You need a reducer and then a 90° elbow to get out from behind the A/C pump. I tapped into there for my pressure gauge. If you are putting your Accusump in there, it's a great spot, but make sure you add a T there and connect a pressure gauge to it also so that you get the most accurate oil pressure reading possible.

My mistake, actually you either want the oild sandwich plate or tap directly into the otlet port from the oil filter. I was corrected by someone who knows the block better than I do. Me <-

angled adapters should be sold anywhere you buy the hose/hose ends from.

pope just wondering why the oil cooler would play a factor in not using the sandwich adapter? we need a few people who have installed this system to come together and get a final answer on the best way to install!!!

Honestly, I can't say for sure that it won't work, but based on BAT's catalog they say that they supply fittings for oil galley install for any oil-cooler equipped cars, which makes me believe the sandwich adapter is not for the SVT. My thought on why would be clearance issues after moving the filter that much further away from the block.
