As my professor would say, "Mechanic is just another term for a glorified parts replacer. We don't train mechanics here, we train technicians,". As a shop operator, I have many mechanics under my supervision that I would not trust their diagnosis or theory, despite ASE badges or years of experience moreso than number of years than I have been living.

Would you install a thermostat that opens at 225-degrees along with a high-performance, racing aluminum radiator and high-CFM fan setup? No? So why do you CHOOSE to do that with your combustion temperatures?
