Umm come on now. Lots of people walk around masquerading as mechanics....just ask anyone who picked up their car and it was still broke. What makes this guy's word any better than someone else? Well, it would have to be his qualifications, resume, and observed proof of performance before I give him any more stock than I give you or most people on the internet. If he has the kind of resume that you must think he has, then he probably won't be telling you that EGR is going to give you a performance benefit or that the car will run like crap without one. Those things aren't necessarily true. He shouldn't tell you that the car WILL run like crap with one because that isn't true either.
He also won't tell you to remove one of your FEDERALLY mandated emissions devices on a street car either....unless he wants to get in trouble. So lets leave third parties out of it.
I speak from experience that there are no ill or negative effects of running with one, AND I still retain EGR and Catalytic converter. It isn't factory, but I retain all the emissions equipment functionality with my turbo system. I refuse to buy into the whole argument that EGR will detract from your turbo performance. I REFUSE to believe that the little bit of EGR recirculated will adversely affect the volume of intake charge that a TURBO can force into the motor.
Now, show me some proof...i.e. data as to EGR degrading a turbo car's performance and I may send you $5, or just a cookie since $5 doesn't buy Sh|t these days!
To be honest, $5 isn't worth the time I spent writing this post...if I consult then I would charge more like $50 for an hour.

But hey, to each his own right? No hard feelings mate!
