I'm sorry but IMHO that altima looks hideous for 30 big ones, and I agree, the fit and finish on the contour sucks...but the new fords are a lot better...and the new mazdas are great when it comes to fit and finish...but if you want power too....well ford is just lacking a little bit in this department lately

....not counting the cobra of course....oh wait...there are no SVT vehicles in production for 2005....again..

I can't stand wooses.

People have differing opinions. Just because they differ doesn't make them "haters" or anything.

I think it's a neat car. Just not worth 29k and certainly not the most exact SVT-C substitute. But that's MHO.

Still, I'd be happy to see one up close and watch it in action and listen to that beautiful 3.5.

Funny so many have said on this site
wish the csvt had 6sd 17in Wheels and 3.0
well 5 years later:
4 doors
fwd
big brakes
6 sp
limited production
over 260 hp
18 inch rims
And also this car handles much better than you might think.
it is only $4,800 more 5 years later

Again it is made in usa!
I dont care if you all hate it or love it...
I like it and I like my 00 Csvt also.

I am biased toward Alty's, Enjoy the ride as Nissan says.

"ricer SE-R badges"? SE-R means something at least on his car, just like Ford SVT or Chevy SS. Someone could also say "redneck/trailer trash" Ford SVT badges maybe?

"import"? I got my car cuz it's US made too, but the profits went to the dealer since it's used, so it doesn't really matter.

"It's ugly"? Taste is objective, besides, the C-SVT has been called "plain, boring, and rental car looks". Also, looks like a Tempo/Escort/Taurus... One thing is for sure new Alty's don't have the 1990's "anycar" look. (yeah my 97 aint no style leader, but gimme the $$ to get something better)

I strongly disagree.

For one thing it lacks the handling prowress of any Contour much less an SVT or early SE.

Well I think you a little off on that...

Having driven both, I have to agree with Demon. The extra 400-500lbs and significant torque steer prevent it from being in the same league. Like I've said before though, it is very nice and certainly a good option in 3.5 SE trim.

Well its not built in japan...no rice tonight!

You do know the $ still goes back to Japan right?

that's what i was thinking too. but then again, they probably have stockholders all over the world.

with engines built in Japan, bodies assembled in Mexico, interior pieces made in China, and the final product sold only in the US, its kinda hard these days to apply labels so liberally like the good ole days. are there ANY vehicles left that are completely, 100%, built in one country? 100%?

although, it does help to further offset the trade deficit with Japan. they make more money by selling products to the US, meanwhile still restricting the flow of US goods into their country.

the whole thing is a catch 22. youre damned if you do and youre damned if you dont.
