I received a contract through Diamond Shamrock when they were purchasing "Stop N Go" stores across South Central Texas.
I went in and uninstalled the POS systems and CRIND (pay at the pump) controllers, then re-installed the newer DS owned systems. At a rate of 850 per uninstall and 1500 per install, I could do one store in 2 hours (both ways) so I got roughly 1150.00 an hour, times 2 per day sometimes... I travelled from SA to Houston, Dallas, Amarillo, McAllen, and Lubbock. (So when your local SNG went away, that was me... I was the only one in Texas...)
Of course there were weeks without stores, etc, and I payed for gas/mileage/etc on my own.. so...
Dad owned the company that got the bid, and I was the only "tech" he had, or wanted.
