Hmm...

With the 'How old are you and what do you do' post that has my age on it, I'm going to decline to answer, exactly...

So, I'll just say, somewhere over 2.

Sneaky, sneaky...

Yea 4.0 is definitely one that is difficult to believe but not impossible I suppose.

I am not including a spouse. I have a friend actually whos ratio would be a little over 4.35. He is 23 years old and makes a little over 100k a year( I am not sure of the exact amount.)

Nope, but I did include my bonus for the year, which was... sizeable to say the least. A rather exceptional year. Enough to pay off one of my cars, I'll say that much, if there wasn't other bills to pay.

As an engineer it's not hard to break 4.0. Using the formula I'd have broke 3.0 the day I graduated.

Wow, I need to start shopping myself on the open market. I work for a government contractor, which explains why my ratio is lower than others. Hmmm... monster.com is calling my name.

Yea i agree with sigma on engineering being a good field to have a high ratio. I just finished with my masters so that is why I have a fairly decent ratio.

I think another imporatant thing to look at is cost of living in the area that you are at. My salary where I am living is easily worth close to 100k a year in a place like NYC. Just to give you an idea my 2 bedroom 1 bath place that is about 1000 sq ft is 490 a month without a roommate and utilities are only gonna cost me between 30-50 a month at most. (not counting cable and internet)

You are right. Location should have a factor in this location. Sigma, congratulations!

We should also factor in that some people major in the arts college.
