I don't mind buying new cds from Best Buy on the release day for $9.99 (or cheaper for newer groups just getting started).
The joke is the RIAA wanting you to pay $8 for a three song EP or $16 for an eight song, thirty year old classic rock CD.
I can do nothing but smile when a successful band built itself up by word of mouth and internet sharing and is truly grateful of its fanbase for that.
While we're bashing the RIAA, why not mention ClearChannel?
