OP Michael Blunk CEG\'er M Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 57	Occasionally when I go to start my Contour (99 Contour SE with V6 Duratec) it makes this demonic high pitched noise. IT's very random and say it makes the noise, wait a couple seconds try to start again and is fine. Othertimes it will continue to make the noise for up to 5 minutes. I really have no clue what is causing it, so if anybody knows anything please let me know. - M. Blunk 1999 Contour SE/Sport 6 Cyl. Duratec ATX

You can pull it off and clean & lubricate the bendix. (lithium grease or something similar) That's a 50/50 shot. Otherwise it will need replacing in the near future when it finally gives out. 2000 SVT #674 13.47 @ 102 - All Motor! It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.
