Yes, you would stand a risk of it. Many have broken their brackets with the STOCK bar. Do you drive agressively (Why else would you care about a BAT bar)? If yes, you WILL eventually break your brackets with an aftermarket sway bar.

Check with your dealer first. I bought a set of those at the Ford dealer for my SVT. For $23 CDN each.....

I also used them for the REAR links on my late father's Mazda. Bolted right up, and cost a quarter of what Mazda wanted.

well i don't auto-x or anything, but i definitely have a need to stiffen up my suspension. and i thought if i could get this bar for 80 and bolt it right in i'd be doing a good thing. if i stand the same risk breaking the brackets on the stock bar, but do you think the brackets will break much easier with the bat bar and poly bushings? if so, do you know why? (for curiousity purposes) i love this car...but i am learning it has some weird weird tendencies haha...put it to you this way: what would you do? would you upgrade to a bat rear sway bar on stock brackets with poly bushings or just leave the stock bar and replace the bushings to poly (if they are broken)???

thanks again

The reason aftermarket bars have a greater chance of breaking the stock mounts is that they are stiffer. The whole point of using poly bushings or a larger bar is to stiffen up the suspension. With that added stiffness comes added pressure on the mounting brackets, which are barely adequate for the stock bar. If you add a larger bar, you WILL eventually break the mounting brackets.

I broke one of my mounts with only the addition of poly bushings, stock sway bar. Once I had the mounts reinforced, then I added a BAT bar.
