I installed the BAT sway bar with poly bushings using my stock brackets, and while I still had the stock suspension on.
It was a huge improvement in the tightness during cornering yet didn't change the overall ride at all of course.
My stock brackets lasted about a year and a half before they broke. I guess one of them had started cracking and I didn't know it, but it put a lot of tension on the other side when it happened. I was sitting at a stop light and one wheel was on uneven ground. I heard this lound snap, loud enough that I thought I got rear-ended but didn't feel any movement!
I even got out while the light was still red and looked at the back of the car. Didn't see anything of course and I didn't know what it was and didn't suspect the brackets.
I didn't realize something was up until I was in a turn on the highway and the car just felt squirelly, harder to track in the turn with any stability. Of course I slowed down. That was when I suspected a sway bar issue but had mostly forgot about the loud noise.
When I got under both brackets mounts had torn free and the brackets were pretty much twisted. What I did was remove the brackets and hammer them back to shape. Then I welded the metal that they bolted to back together and then threw in a few more reinforcement welds. It hasn't been an issue since and the repair was free since I had a small mig welder.
