Endlinks attach the swaybar to the moving parts of the suspension. It's the brackets that rip. These attach the swaybar to the subframe. And no, the subframe doesn't "rip out." The brackets get ripped off the subframe. They are very weak. "Boxing in" refers to strengthening the brackets.
