$2,000. to fix those problems??? That sounds like an awful lot for those minor problems. If you're clutch isn't slipping then why replace it? A clutch can last indefinitly. It all depends on what kind of mileage it has seen and how the car is driven. The tranny, you can buy a used one for less than $200.. I just sold one for a 95 V6 for $75.00. They're around and they're cheaper than the 98-00 5 spd's which are cable shifts(95-97 are rod shifts). The intake gaskets are easy to do, there is even an excellent how to in the FAQ's section. The IAC and EGR aren't too expensive and they are easy to replace also. Motor mounts, you're looking at about $100.(+/-) for them. Labor will be your most expensive part, but even then I don't see $2,000. for repairs.
If you like the car and want to keep it then repair the 2 sensors and drive it until it drops. Put some money aside so when it does go you can either upgrade to a 3.0L, or replace the 2.5L with a use one(I have them)or a remanufactured one. OR when the time comes, just get a newer one.
As far as how long they last???? I've had quite a few with less than 100K with a rod poking through the block or a blown head gasket and I've also had quite a few with close to or over 200K miles and still running strong. Again, in the long run it all depends on how it was taken care of and driven.
