hey hector - i had a setup much much much like what you are describing. I had a shoshop ypipe w/cat, 2.5" tubing, 12" long muffler in the middler (where the res used to be) and no rear mufflers. Sounded awesome! It had some serious bark after 4K!

I have since added my headers and two magnaflows to the rear. I added the magnaflows on before I put the headers on because I feared the headers would make the car unacceptably loud.
