No I was stating that the parts are forged and not cast like you mentioned.

Then I further added some technical information to support the ability to forge powdered metal to very tight tolerances and do it consistently.

Trust him...he has far better access to the Original Ford specifications than anyone else I know on this board. At least as far as the engines go.
The only other I know of that has inside information like this is Rara who is a brake engineer.

Look, no two parts made by man are exactly alike, ever.
That is why they have a 'tolerance' range.
These 'tolerances' are the variations in physical dimensions between each part that are allowed as "fully functional" in the design of the machine. Tight tolerances mean that there is very little measureable difference between those parts, but that there are still differences.

If a part is supposed to be 100mm +- .1 mm, then you could have a part that is 99.9mm, 100.0mm, or 100.1mm and they would all be within tolerence and usable in your machine, but not truly be the same length.
Each part would work well though. Lets say you got two parts and one was 100.06mm and another was 100.02mm. You would have two different parts but you would be LUCKY that they were both within .04 mm of each other. If one was 99.90 and the other was 100.10 then they would be different by .20 mm, 5 TIMES as much differnce as the first example yet still fuctional in your machine! This last example would be considered UNLUCKY if you were worried about this much variation.
.

* bump *

If the initial run of this kit does well, will you be offering it again? eg. for continuing sale on the g-force site?

Would the popularity of the Mazda 6 help to keep these kits on your shelves?

(I don't actually know if the Mazda6 Duratec & ours all share the same rotating assy....just wondering)

Thanks for putting this out there!

All 3L Duratec blocks share the same crank & rods.

The pistons are interchangeable being of same bore size but differ between several platforms.
The clearances might make swapping say Jag pistons for stock pistons a problem. For instance the Jag cams have less lift because their pistons are domed. That's how tight the clearances are.

I suppose technically the cranks may be balanced slightly different but that's moot for aftermarket parts because rebalancing is needed anyway when changing to them.

Not true. The various 3.0L engines & platforms have always shared the same piston. So a 3.0L Jag and 3.0L Escape rolling off the line right now have the exact same piston. However, there have been about 5 piston revisions over the years which may be what you have seen depending on which model years you're comparing.

A 3.0L crank is a 3.0L crank no matter which vehicle it came from. The only catch is that they deepened the pilot bearing hole around 1997/1998 model year. This applied to 2.5L as well since the cranks are identical except for balance.
