This is such bull. 2.5L production never left the U.S. Cleveland Engine Plant #2 is still making 2.5L engines, just not in high volume anymore because the only customer is Genk Assembly Plant in Belgium where the Mondeo is assembled. Metaldyne makes the raw forging and sends it to CEP#2 for finish machining. In fact, Metaldyne makes a LOT of rods for Ford.
Edit: CEP#2 also makes 2.5L and 2.0L engines for Jaguar but that's small volume, too.
